What's been happening this week at Darlinghurst Primary and Nursery School

Miss Wakeford - RW
This week RW have had some fabulous phonic sessions !! We have been learning digraphs such as "ie" "or" "ee" and "ou". Good luck with your number scrapbooks, I'm looking forward to seeing them !

Mrs McIntosh - RM
This week RM have been working really hard this week learning new phonemes and digraphs. Keep working hard and don't forget your homework !

Mrs Barrington - 1B
We have been looking at repeating patterns in Literacy and the children can now change some text. Our numeracy involved lots of teen numbers which the children are getting very confident with. Our topic next half term is toys. Enjoy the holiday ! Remember to read and I will see you soon.

Mrs Dutton - 2/1D
Well done to everyone. We have had a fantastic week subtracting using our number lines. We are now very confident. We have got P.E. first lesson after the holiday, so remember your kits please. Have a lovely week with your families.

Miss Bernard - 2/1B
The children have really enjoyed working on the "Three Little Pigs". They have produced some beautiful pictures and story maps ready to support their writing next half term. I am also really pleased with the way the children approached their practical science assessment on creating a balanced meal.

Miss Slann - 3S
What a great Roman week we've had ! You have all worked really hard and produced some fantastic pieces of writing and art. Why don't you try making some more pizzas at home in half term? Have fun and don't forget to learn your times tables. Please remember your P.E. kits for the first Monday back.

Mrs Peacher - 3P
We really enjoyed Roman day and we made some great toga belts, mosaic picture frames and mile forts ! This is not to mention our fantastic pizzas. Have a super half term holiday and next half term we must remember to give school letters to our parents.

Miss Bolton - 4B
This week we learnt "who lives where" when studying habitats. The whole class really had fun doing this. Enjoy your half term and see you soon !

Mr Haulter + Mrs Amran - 4AH
4AH had fun playing a game called "hesitation" in P.S.H.E. It was easy to pick up and we thoroughly enjoyed it ! Please remember your P.E. kits on your return from half term.

Mrs Johnston - 5J
Wonderful Victorian projects. Mrs Johnston is very impressed with your effort and the learning that has taken place. We have Bodycare sessions on Tuesdays so make sure you have an indoor P.E. kit. Remember to bring in a water bottle, your information about healthy living and the amount of times your family flushes the toilet each day in the holiday ! Keep reading too ! Happy holidays !

Mr Duff - 5D
Fantastic Victorian exhibition ! You should be very proud of your projects as they were superb. Well done for remembering the information we learnt about graphs, digraphs, trigraphs and quadgraphs this week. We will be doing more work on this next half term. Keep up our excellent record for reading at home, I am very pleased with this. Enjoy your half term, be safe, and please remember your P.E. kits on your return.

Mr Martin / Mrs McLauchlan - Year 6
Wow what a museum trip ! How hazardous, we nearly froze and then were shaken by the "Earthquake". Rest well and don't forget the School Fantasy Football League starts this weekend !

What a week to end the half term on !!

Lots of learning, fun and activities going on all around the school.

Enjoy your week off and take care !
